Ooh friends, I’m so excited to share my latest pattern with you! The temps are getting quite chilly here in Michigan, so what a perfect time to introduce the Broken Rib Knit Mittens!

Broken Rib Knit Mittens - free pattern from Knifty Knittings and Yarnspirations #knitting #knittingpattern #yarnspirations

I wanted to make a mitten pattern that you could knit for any member of the family. The Broken Rib Knit Mittens is written in 5 sizes, from toddler to adult men’s! They feature a beautiful all-over broken rib pattern, which I just love.

Broken Rib Knit Mittens - free pattern from Knifty Knittings and Yarnspirations #knitting #knittingpattern #yarnspirations

Can we talk about this yarn, though? It uses Yarnspiration’s brand spankin new yarn called Patons Lincoln Fog! It’s a wool, acrylic and lincoln yarn blend with an almost mohair look and a super soft halo.

You will only need one skein for any of the five mitten sizes. You can find Lincoln Fog and the full free pattern PDF here. (Find the updated pattern here!)

This pattern uses the magic loop method, which is my favorite method for small circumference knitting. You could also knit these mittens with double pointed needles if you’d prefer.

Garter Rib Knit Scarf

Hey friends! I don’t know about you, but these fall Michigan winds have me pulling out all the cozy scarves and sweaters. If you’re on the hunt for a new cozy fall accessory, I have you covered! Meet my newest pattern in collaboration with Yarnspirations – the Garter Rib Knit Scarf!

Garter Rib Knit Scarf - free pattern from Knifty Knittings and Yarnspirations #knittingpatterns #freepattern #yarnspirations

The Garter Rib Knit Scarf is not only easy to knit (hello, two row repeat!), it’s extra cozy, easy to wear and features fun tassels at the corners!

Garter Rib Knit Scarf - free pattern from Knifty Knittings and Yarnspirations #knittingpatterns #freepattern #yarnspirations

I used Patons Alpaca Blend from my friends at Yarnspirations in this gorgeous colorway called Butternut. I mean, if this isn’t fall in a color I don’t know what is!

Garter Rib Knit Scarf - free pattern from Knifty Knittings and Yarnspirations #knittingpatterns #freepattern #yarnspirations

Patons Alpaca Blend is 60% acrylic, 22% wool, 10% nylon, 8% alpaca. I find that the Alpaca content gives it a wonderful softness, while it still has the durability of an acrylic blend. You can find all 20+ colors here, and you only need two skeins for this project!

Fun tip: If you love long scarves like I do, make your tassels first. Then just knit until you’re almost out of yarn (leave a little for that bind off, though).

If tassels are not your strong suit, never fear – I included a full step by step video tutorial to walk you through each part of the pattern!

Bobble Knit Throw Pillow

Happy Free Pattern Friday, friends! I’ve been so blown away by your response to the Bobble Knit Throw pattern I published last month, and I’m so excited for you to meet its throw pillow match!

Bobble Knit Throw Pillow - click for the free pattern and tutorial from www.kniftyknittings.com! #yarnspirations #knitting #knittingpatterns

The Bobble Knit Throw Pillow features the same diamond bobble pattern as the throw, making a perfect matching set! It is knit lengthwise and fits a 12″ by 20″ pillow insert for a modern look. It’s knit in the round as a tube, then the ends are seamed together. It’s just as easy to knit as the blanket, maybe even easier since there’s a lot less purling!

Bobble Knit Throw Pillow - click for the free pattern and tutorial from www.kniftyknittings.com! #yarnspirations #knitting #knittingpatterns

If you’ve already picked up your yarn for the throw blanket, then you’re all set! The throw uses about 3.5 skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky Big Ball (the 400g skein), and the pillow uses about half a skein. So with only 4 skeins you’ll have a matching set to cozy up your favorite spot!

Bobble Knit Throw – Free Pattern

Sponsored by Yarnspirations
Bobble Knit Throw - free knitting pattern and tutorial from www.kniftyknittings.com #knitting #knittingpattern

Hello again friends! I have a new fun and free pattern for you today! If you’re looking to add some cozy texture to your home, I really think you’ll love the Bobble Knit Throw pattern!

Bobble Knit Throw - free knitting pattern and tutorial from www.kniftyknittings.com #knitting #knittingpattern

The Bobble Knit Throw is full of chunky bobbles in a simple but eye-catching diamond pattern. It’s surrounded in a border of classic seed stitch, which is worked as you go.

It’s the perfect size for a personal lap blanket, or feel free to make it larger or smaller by increasing or decreasing the cast on amount by multiples of ten.

Bobble Knit Throw - free knitting pattern and tutorial from www.kniftyknittings.com #knitting #knittingpattern

My friends at Yarnspirations sent me four large skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky, which was plenty to complete this blanket with quite a bit left over! These skeins are the equivalent of four skeins in one, so you get a lot of bang for your buck (plus who doesn’t love having less ends to weave in?).

Yarnspirations has generously provided a 20% off Bernat Softee Chunky coupon code for you through May 31st 2019. Just use the code KNIFTY20 at checkout! Thanks Yarnspirations!

The Ribbed Double Brim Knit Hat

Oh you guys, I feel like my yarn worlds are colliding over here! Have you heard that Sugar Bush Yarns are now available from Yarnspirations? I’ve been a big fan of Sugar Bush’s luxury yarns for a couple of years now, and I was thrilled to hear I could now easily find them at Yarnspirations.com!

They’ve added 15 stunning Sugar Bush yarns to the site, including:

Sugar Bush Itty-Bitty, a fine weight yarn that’s ideal for socks and shawls, in a blend of merino wool, nylon and cashmere.

Sugar Bush Motley, a sport weight yarn with self-striping colorways in a cozy alpaca and merino wool blend.

Sugar Bush Bold, a worsted weight yarn in an extra fine superwash merino that comes in vibrant colors.

Sugar Bush Bliss, a sport weight yarn in a luxurious mix of cashmere, mulberry silk and superfine merino wool with excellent stitch definition.

Sugar Bush Chill, a super bulky weight yarn that works up fast in rich, saturated hues of 100% merino wool.

They’ve also added Sugar Bush Crisp, Drizzle, Rapture, Cobot, CanoeGlazeDawsonNanaimo, and Shanty. You can browse and shop all the yarn here.

When Yarnspirations asked if I’d design a pattern with one of their new yarns, I jumped at the chance! I chose Sugar Bush Crisp, a DK weight 100% extra fine merino yarn. It’s so soft, squishy and has excellent stitch definition. I knew it would make the perfect light weight hat as we start heading into spring. I chose the color Provincial Peach (you’ll need two skeins).
